Hello everyone, a first timer here for several reasons.
I'm a 30yo single male, and I'm trying to work out how you determine whether or not you're poly?  Is there some key, like knowing that you're gay because you're into guys?
Also are there any sites, groups etc or even just people in Tassie, I'm keen to find an avenue for further discussion close to home, and if there's something or someone in Tas I can relate to it would be good.
Thanks very much!

Well, if you have ever been in love with more than one person at the same time, and not completely torn up with angst about it, that would be a clue. Also, just personally, I don't really get jealous about the idea of a partner of mine having another connection, as long as they're straight with me about it (no pun intended :P ) It's when someone's playing games with me that jealousy comes into it.

But everyone's experience of it is different, and the way they choose to go about it is too.

There is a polyamory FAQ out there - Google should reveal it. There are also books - The Ethical Slut is one. Also there's an international LJ comm simply called polyamory which has a lot more traffic than this one, and many many questions like yours - answers even!

Good luck!

For me it was two things. Coming to understand that i had not been jealous of a partner having other lovers (since i was a kid and got over such things) and not falling out of love with someone while falling in love with another. It did not strike me to look for definition until one of my loves said she wanted to be my partner also, then , my wife looked :)
